Portugal 1-1 England (90mins)
Portugal 2-2 England (ET)
Portugal 6-5 England (PK)

My beloved Portugal has done it again. Despite an early setback from a Michael Owen goal, the Portuguese Men O'War NEVER gave up hope. Wat followed was an entire match of parry, and counter thrusts, waves upon waves of unforgiving attacks..For the record I never felt any pressure even tho ENG was leading by that solitary Owen goal, no grief, no sadness. Somewhere deep inside my heart i knew that Portugal wld make it thru at e end of the day, I knew that Portugal wld equalise in Normal time and after they took a deserved lead in ET thru a gem of an effort from the veteran Rui Costa, i knew ENG wld get another lucky goal. But when Beckham skied his Penalty kick, i knew that Portugal was gonna be in the semis. Somehow, inexplicably, i knew too that Rui Costa wld miss.. As the ladies in the stands teared, i was close to choking on my balls which had mysteriously crawled up into my throat. Such was the enormous pressure on everyone involved. From the coaches, the players to the ball boys and especially the millions of fans around the world and in the stadium itself nobody was spared the agonising wait as each kicker stepped up to the spot.. Barak and me were stumped when Luiz felipe Scolari took FIgo off (when he was Portugal's most industrious player, clearly)and brought Helder Postiga on..It was a brilliant substitution as Postiga scored the equalising goal (another sub Rui Costa scored as well).. Overall England did put a up a good fight, Ashley Cole, in particular, deserves a mention for a superb performance. But if u ask me, their midfield was non-existent and their long ball tactic was so boring, predictable and routine. Ricardo Carvalho could deal with those types of balls all day long..

Watched it at Singgah selalu with Gopi, Barak, Gerald, Amin and Siddiq, where the atmosphere was electrifying, to say the least. We had steaks, banana splits, sheesha, many, many cigarettes and i spent like only 18 Sing dollars.. we sat right in front of the projector and the fans there were maadddd! So madd that some england fans decided to celebrate when Sol Campbell (unfairly) scored even tho the England players themselves had stopped celebrating. The looks on their faces were priceless as Portugal counter attacked from the resulting free kick. Idiots. Overall it was a very entertaining evening, at a restaurant only a stone's throw from the Johor coastline, with plenty of eye candy.. Just too bad my cuz had to lose his phone, some bitch stole it from him.. It was a superb evening nonetheless.

My condolences to the England fan who was murdered. Rest in Peace my brother..May god have mercy on your soul... and Merry ole England.
