Just came back from a wonderful evening at Singgah Selalu, a restaurant off the coast of JB. Had supper and enjoyed an entertaining game of soccer between Portugal and Spain.
FINALLY, this was the Portugal that captured my heart 4 yrs ago at Euro 2000. This was the team with fantastic individual skill, excellent technique and great teamwork. Tonight, Portugal defended with all their might and courage, they attacked in waves together as one, even Deco played with all of Portugal's hopes and dreams deep within his Brazilian born heart. A masterful performance and a victory over none other than traditional Iberian Rivals, Spain. In fact the first in 23 years.. But for heroics and skill between the posts of Iker Casillas, the Portuguese armada would have sunk 3 or 4 past the Spanish conquest who head home with empty hands and disbelief.. For as much as it matters, even though I am no more portuguese than Nasi Lemak, I will support Figo, Ronaldo and co all the way. If they play this way in every single match, rest assured that they will be right there on the podium right in front of their home fans come July 4th... All hail Portugal!
