I've spent only 2 weeks here and i miss everyone already. Hope everyone's doing fine back in SG... To tell you the truth Melbourne's a really beautiful place, a vibrant city with nice (and weird) people but home is where the heart is yeah.
So far weird people i've met include an old man who swung handbags at passing cyclists, a girl in kickboxing gear who challenged guys to a fight outside a 7-11 and lotsa drunk aussies who either ask you for "Mo Bayr" (More Beer) or ask where to "get a piss on". I didn't know what the latter meant so i told him to pee at the wall.. haha turned out he was asking where he could get a drink! So far i've managed to adapt to their slang, was difficult at first like pronouncing A as Eye instead of eh and E as Eey instead of ee.I took 20 mins to speak to the Optus Customer Service Officer cos he couldnt understand my As and Es. What a riot! haha.
Anyway, I've been eating a lot a lot here.. whacking lamb and beef and chicken and seafood, the cold has given me an appetite, hopefully it'll continue when i come home.. There's so much food around, from Italiano to Indonesian.. more expensive than in SG but I'm trying new and different kinds of food everyday.. Gastronomic delights indeed. Jermyn's a great chef too and we're lucky we have him around.
