Bluebay Knights 1 - 5 Venom FC
On a personal level i felt i did ok. I made quite a number of good passes, one or two being defence-splitting. I had many chances (as many as 5) but only one found the back of the net. I must retain my composure and not let the opposition defence harry me into making my shot. I know what went wrong and i shall not lose the lesson even though we lost the match (Thank you Andy, Cadbury man).
On a team level, i felt that it was an atrocious performance. I do not think that embarassment is an equitable return on sweat endlessly toiled. Time and again, in this tournament i wonder why i stay on, why i drag myself down to every match (sometimes even as far as Ubi) when this is definitely not the Bluebay Knights i initially joined. Where's the Nicks, Nasirs, Stuarts and Shawns? Even Ming and Aziz dun play as well as they used to.. Where's the camaraderie, the enjoyable post match team talks? The holiday get togethers? The current bluebay is not a team. It is a grp of ppl who " i call my side, u call ur side". A ragtag bunch of several cliques with minimal teamwork, only a bit of 'clique-work' here and there. The bluebay i joined worked for the ball, fought all the way and they didn't lose their temperament and commit needless, mindless fouls or let the ball fly over their hands and joke about letting in stupid goals after. Honestly, this is my passion and passion is the only thing i'm running on whenever i put on the bright orange jersey. Passion and pride. It may be just a game but i hate to lose like how we did today. We didn't even put up a fight, we just lay on our backs and let them rape us. If we had put in that bit of effort neccessary in any sport i'm sure we would have beaten them.
There's only so much bruising my pride can take that my passion can sustain, and i don't know how long it would last for bluebay.
